From data replication to data publication
Hey 👋
Well done on making it through February! Next week is one of my favourite days of the year — pancake day 🥞. This is my go to recipe.

Want great, practical advice on implementing data mesh, data products and data contracts?
In my weekly newsletter I share with you an original post and links to what's new and cool in the world of data mesh, data products, and data contracts.
I also include a little pun, because why not? 😅
(Don’t worry—I hate spam, too, and I’ll NEVER share your email address with anyone!)
Love to read the little tidbits of insight and advice! The fact everything is both short and to-the point makes it actionable and easy to implement. Of course it's clear that Andrew goes deep on data contracts, data products and all the minute details. But as someone once said, the people who really get things are the ones that can package it in a clear language! Focusing a lot on the (actually hard) aspects around driving changes in culture and people.
Special thanks for your newsletter. It is always on point with the problems we are trying to tackle.
Highly recommended newsletter when drafting a business strategy that is "shifting left" in the data tech stack.

Hey 👋

Hey everyone, hope you had a good week! Today’s post is on changing your environment.
Data contacts has always been about solving the problem of tightly coupled data integrations.
In fact, my first public post on data contracts back in 2021 was all about replacing a tightly coupled data integration (change data capture) with data contracts.
Hey friends!
I don’t know about you, but January really has felt like this for me!
Data contracts provide a standard way for your organisation to create, manage, and consume data.
We can influence the behaviour of people and processes through the platforms we build and the design decisions we make.

Happy new year everyone! If you had a break over the holidays I hope you had a good one.

A couple of months ago the team at Notion published a great post titled a brief history of Notion’s data catalog.
The initial idea for data contracts was to create an interface through which reliable and well-structured data could be made available to consumers. Like an API, but for data.
