Being part of something bigger

·1 min

People don’t like being told what to do.

But people do like being part of something bigger.

So, telling someone they have to improve the quality of their data because you said so, or because you convinced their bosses to say so, isn’t going to motivate them to do a great job.

But showing someone how by improving the quality of the data unblocks you so together you are delivering something of strategic value to the organisation is motivating, and a great way to incentivise different people to work together as partners.

Want great, practical advice on implementing data mesh, data products and data contracts?

In my weekly newsletter I share with you an original post and links to what's new and cool in the world of data mesh, data products, and data contracts.

I also include a little pun, because why not? 😅
