Data contracts encourage domain ownership

·1 min

Implementing data contracts at the platform layer gives it the capabilities needed to enable domain ownership.

They:

  • Provide an interface for those in other domains to access data, and do so with confidence
  • Supply self-served tooling so teams can meet the data needs of other domains, with full autonomy
  • Reduce the cognitive load needed to manage data, by automating away common governance tasks

Designing and implementing your data platform with data contracts encourages domain ownership of data.
