The gap between aspirations and reality

·1 min

Nash Squared’s Digital Leadership Report from last year recorded that 64% of organisations they interviewed think that big data and analytics are the way to deliver competitive advantage, yet only 1 in 5 are using it to deliver increased revenue.

That’s a huge gap between the aspirations organisation leaders have for their data, and the reality they are able to achieve.

I think a lot of that is down to the way we’ve been dealing with our data, and the quality of that data.

Which is why we’re seeing ideas like data mesh, data contracts, data products, and more gain traction.

Because we, as an industry, need to do better than we have been at turning these aspirations into the reality.

Want great, practical advice on implementing data mesh, data products and data contracts?

In my weekly newsletter I share with you an original post and links to what's new and cool in the world of data mesh, data products, and data contracts.

I also include a little pun, because why not? 😅
