Applying product thinking to data

·1 min

I quite liked this article by Francie Kastl on the 6 Reasons Why Applying Product Thinking to Data Makes Sense.

I do think product thinking is more about the mindset than anything else.

It’s about being clear what you are building, why, and who for.

It’s about considering how this product meets their requirements, what other use cases it might also meet, and also what use cases it explicitly does not meet.

Product thinking has long been applied to other areas of software engineering, including our APIs and our platforms. It’s natural to apply it to our data too.

In my weekly newsletter I share with you an original post and links to what's new and cool in the world of data mesh, data products, and data contracts.

I also include a little pun, because why not? 😅
