Do you trust your data?

At most of my recent talks I’ve asked the audience - who are made up of data professionals - a simple question: Do you trust your data?

So far, out of hundreds of people, not one hand has gone up.

That’s damning, and I think the biggest problem we have in the data space. We don’t trust the data we’re building on, and our users don’t trust the data we’re providing them.

This applies for any use of data: from the everyday data that support business processes to that key business objective of building revenue driving data applications - including those based on AI.
