Challenge assumptions

Often things are as they are because they always have been.

So challenge the assumption that they have to be that way.

At the very least you’ll start a good conversation and learn a lot from it. Most senior people often enjoy being asked those questions, so being the one that asked them is a good way to start building a relationship with them.

And sometimes you’ll find that the assumption was ripe for challenging. So by doing so you’ll start a chain of events that eventually lead to an impactful change for your organisation - and they’ll have you to thank for it.
