--- title: "Winter Granola Recipe" date: 2016-04-17 categories: ["Recipe","Health"] source: https://andrew-jones.com/blog/winter-granola-recipe/ --- # Winter Granola Recipe I've recently starting making my own Granola. It's really easy, much healthier than shop bought Granola (no added sugar!) and I can make it exactly how I want it. My favourite at the moment is what I'm calling my "Winter Granola". [![A glass jar filled with homemade granola containing oats, dried cranberries, and chopped nuts on a kitchen countertop next to an electric stove.](https://andrew-jones.com/images/posts/winter-granola.jpg)](https://www.flickr.com/photos/andrewrjones/26212999250/) Based off [this recipe from Nics Nutrition](http://nicsnutrition.com/recipe/healthy-homemade-granola/), I used the following ingredients: * 200g Tesco organic oats (the oats are bigger than their standard oats) * 2 tbsp honey * 1 tbsp vegetable oil * A good sized handful of sunflower seeds * 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (added before cooking) * A few handfuls of raisins, [freeze dried diced apple](http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freeze-Dried-Diced-Apple-70g/dp/B00H84F7T0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage) and [freeze dried sliced cherry](http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freeze-Dried-Sliced-Cherry-100g/dp/B00H7YV5RY?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage) The freeze dried fruit from Amazon is a little expensive, but are the only ones I could find without added sugar, and they taste great. With the amount I am using they will probably last 4 or 5 bakes.
