This game was originally scheduled for the 18 December, but was postponed because of the snow. Finally I was able to go to it last night. Here’s some thoughts…

I have released a simple jQuery plugin that converts email addresses such as you [at] example [dot] com into clickable mailto links.

I have released a new version (0.3 0.4) of my jQuery Placeholder Plugin, which emulates the HTML5 placeholder attribute in browsers that do not support it.

HTML5 got its own logo today from the W3C (see right), which I quite like. But what I think is really interesting is the general acceptance that its not just a technology anymore. Its a collection of technologies. Its a movement¹. Its a buzzword.

When I was flying back from Dublin last weekend, I had a thought about how crazy it is that I am being taken up in the sky in a metal tube with two massive jet engines on the side (I kept the thought to myself…). Then I remembered a reported quote from Napoleon Bonaparte when asked about Robert Fulton’s Steamboat:

NASA recently published a page entitled Climate Change: Evidence¹ that provides what it calls compelling evidence on the existence of climate change and the fact it is “very likely human-induced”.

Last Sunday I ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon. I think I did quite well, but am still a bit disappointed.

The code below allows you to get the date at the start of the week given the ISO Week Number and optionally the year (defaulting to this year), and requires the DateTime module.
